So by Fleming’s LHR The force on the electrons is Electrons moving this way Conventional Current

Note that: By Fleming’s left hand rule (applied again- this time to the electrons moving along the wire) this current produces a force downward (ie In the opposite direction to the motion of the conductor through the field current field force And so the wire is being pushed against its motion through the field. We have to do work to move it when we are producing a current!! This is a lovely example of the conservation of energy in action!!
