Speaking [Oral Communciation] converse with your child on what has happened in school When out, speak to them about what is around them Talk to them about the latest news and seek their opinions Reading [Language Use and Comprehension] making reading a priority    read to your child/get your child to read to you keep reading materials nearby    visit the library    be a reading role-model Writing [Continuous Writing] - encourage your child to journal

9 Parental Support At upper primary, pupils tend to struggle with Comprehension Cloze and Comprehension open-ended Encourage pupils to look for contextual clues and to read with understanding Most importantly, encourage pupils to strive for accuracy!
