2 Economic Ties The ninth session of the Pakistan-Saudi Joint Ministerial Commission held in Islamabad ended on a call to further enhance bilateral economic ties. Both the countries are wishing to enhance bilateral economic ties in various sectors including banking, agriculture, investment, education, infrastructure development, energy and health.

3 Economic Ties The close geographical proximity, historic trade ties, religious affinity and the complementary nature of economic needs have created a strong bondage of trust between the two countries. In addition, there is a convergence of views and interests of the two countries on most of the regional and international issues. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy excellent relations.

4 Investment A Saudi investment company “Al-Baaj” is willing to invest up to $1 billion in energy, automobile, hotel and construction industries in the next five years. Saudi Arabia is in favour of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Pakistan There are more than 350 Pakistani investors in the Kingdom who have obtained licenses from Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and have established companies in various fields of construction and services.
