Democritus Democritus was born in Andréa in Thrace around 460bc. He believe that matter could be divided until it cannot be divided anymore. He called that particle a atom.

Aristotle He was born in 384bc. Stager, near Macedonia at the northern end of the Aegean Sea. Aristotle dominated the study of natural science and was one of the greatest Greek Philosopher that ever lived.

John Dalton John Dalton was born in Eaglesfield, Cumberland, England. He was a British Chemist and physicist who developed the Atomic Theory of Matter. When Dalton was only 12 he took charge of a Quaker School in Cumberland. Dalton way of life was influenced by a wealth Quaker.

John Thomson John Thomson was born in Baltimore. He said that the atom consists a positively charged protons and negatively charged electrons. He also said that the atom is neutral and he proved that an atom can be divided.

Robert Milliken Robert Andrew Milliken was born on March 22, 1868, in Morrison, Ill. Milliken began work in various areas such as electrical discharges.

Antoine Lavoisier was born August 26,1743. He was the son of a wealthy Paris family. His family was among the upper class. That’s what helped him complete a degree in law at the College Mazarin.
