2. Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela fought for the rights of Black South Africans when there was a system of segregation (separation of Black and White people in their daily lives eg on buses, in parks, in housing). This policy was called Apartheid. He was imprisoned for 27 years, but went on to be a unifying President of the country who abolished Apartheid for good.
