Financing of the schoolmeals
Diet for a Green Planet Financing of the schoolmeals Meals in the kindergartens are included in the total kindergarten-fee (maximum approx. 100 euro per child/month) Lunch for free at all schools. By law in Sweden. Total cost for the lunch approx. 3,5 euro/portion

Diet for a Green Planet A process for change Political decision New head of Diet Unit Diet policy and investing in complete kitchens Implementation of Diet for a Clean Baltic starts – All kitchens are organized under Kostenheten – The goal of 50% organic food is reached – work, work, work… 2018 – New goal: 75% organic Adjust the diet to a sustainable development. Use purchasing of food as a tool for a better environment .

No extra money in the budget!
Diet for a Green Planet No extra money in the budget! Food according to season = cheaper products. Less meat = less quantity of expensive products. Whole grain and good vegetables = better satisfaction More organic = more expensive, but compensated by the other measures. Diet for a Green Planet Results 2017 Organic products – 60% of total foodbudget More locally produced – dairy products and vegetables 85% of the meat from Sweden Reduced meat with 12% compared to 2016 Different transitions: - barley instead of rice - hen instead of chicken - swedish legumes instead of imported Average 30 g food waste/portion
