Matter has got mass and it occupies space.
The properties of an object are natural characteristics that let us describe the object in different ways.

3. GENERAL PROPERTIES OF MATTER
Mass and volume are two general properties of matter.
Mass is the amount of matter in a physical body.
Volume is the amount of space that a body occupies.

4. SPECIFIC PROPERTIES OF MATTER
Specific properties are characteristics that we can use to describe and compare different types of matter.

Density is a measurement of the amount of matter,or mass,in a particular space or volume.

6. HARDNESS AND TOUGHNESS
Hardness is the ability to resist scratches and cuts.
Diamond is hard while chalk is soft
Toughness is the ability to resist breaking.
Steel are tough Glass is fragile

7. PLASTICITY, DUCTILITY AND ELASTICITY
Plasticity is the ability to change shape without breaking.
We can stretch some materials to make thin wires.This property is called ductility.
Some materials return to original shape.This property is called elasticity.

Liquids can flow quickly or slowly, depending on their viscosity.
Liquids can flow. This property is called fluidity.
