California’s Water Challenge?
Not, finding more water but using water efficiently or not at all when not necessary. Stormwater/Dry Weather runoff capture and reuse Conservation Recycled Water Groundwater/Surface Water Storage Imported Water as an Emergency Supply WE NEED TO EXPAND WATER STROAGE CAPACITY OF ALL KINDS: Big, small, surface and groundwater storage. Increasing GW storage opportunities also helps meet GW Sustainability goals. Prop 1- Water Bond- Priority multiple benefit projects (cold water & water supply; GW clean up & recharge). Projects must have local support & partnership. Beneficiaries pay. Prop 1 (storage--- $2.7 billion). Be engaged in the process: CA Water Commission-Implementation of Water Storage Investment Program. Dec 2016-Deadline to Finalize Regulations. Beginning 2017—Funding Program Begins.

One that must include Education Technology A watershed approach or planning that includes collaboration with others, often many others. State and local governments set standards Education is constant marketing and adjusting to circumstances Technologies can lead the way to new and improved standards Planning and sharing responsibilities is key Temperature and storms must be cold enough to support sig snowpack in the Sierras. Temperatures is especially important for certain native fish populations, such as salmon. Source:

Thank you Save Our Water is a statewide program aimed at helping Californians reduce their everyday water use. Created in 2009 by the California Department of Water Resources and the Association of California Water Agencies, the program offers ideas and inspiration for permanently reducing water use – regardless of whether California is in a drought.
