Austronesians consider Taiwan their cultural “Motherland,” and they may consider “family” ties stronger than economic ties.
The Austronesian countries can provide each other with all of the important natural resources.
In 2013, the 49 Austronesian nations had a combined Annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of US$4,490,000,000,000. If Austronesia was a single united economy, it would rank #6 in the world, ahead of Germany (#6) and Russia (#7).
