1. Cells: All organisms are made of one or more cells.
Cells the basic unit of life Some organism only have 1 cell (unicellular) Other organisms have many cells (multicellular)

2. DNA: All organisms have DNA
DNA is the genetic code for all living things DNA provides the instructions for the cell and all of the cell’s activities/functions

3. Metabolic Action: All organisms use energy

4. Homeostasis: All organisms maintain a stable internal environment
Regulation of the internal environment of an organism in response to changes The body’s action to protect itself from changing conditions in both the internal and external environment E.g. sugar levels, water levels, oxygen/carbon dioxide levels, temperature

5. Growth and Development: All organisms show growth and development

6. Reproduction: All organisms reproduce.

7. Adapt: All organisms detect and respond to changes in their environment
