2. FRIENDS OF ANCELLS FARM DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Development Plans have been created by each of the ‘Friends of’ groups in Fleet.
What is a Development Plan?
A statement of the agreed plans for future development of the parks, capturing all stakeholders views & aspirations.
They should ensure that development in the park is carefully controlled to maintain and enhance the character of the park.
Why have we created a Development Plan?
To ensure any park development is co-ordinated and well planned.
To assist in application of grants.
To help plan resources and prioritise projects.
Purpose of the Development Plan: The Development Plans are a means of defining the character and to a large extent the content of the parks. They are a means of capturing and collating all stakeholders’ views and aspirations into a coherent overarching plan which is then used as the vehicle to develop the facility in line with the aspirations of the Plan. In particular they are used to identify capital projects and in turn the source of funding; by the Town Council, through s106 funds or through securing external grant funding.

Process of agreeing Dev Plan has involved close working with FTC using an agree process shown on the slide. We’ve attended a number of meetings with them to discuss the format, process and content of the Plan.

The Plan will be reviewed from time to time, but at least every 3 years.

Ideas ‘borrowed’ from other ‘Friends of’ Groups & others
What happens if we get more ideas?
Most new ideas will be logged and included in the review in three years time. However…..
In the meantime, we can still work on new projects if the FT Council agrees, (it may be more difficult to obtain funding).

Prioritisation of projects
Prioritisation of projects is according to aspirations and interests of the current committee. If members wish to increase a priority – let us know, or better still join the committee and help / lead with a project.

Ideas / projects that are not attractive to all parties.
Ideas / projects that will spoil the character of the park.
Ideas that are well catered for in other local parks

Examples are toilets / muga were not attractive to all parties. Muga would spoil the character of the park and a skateboard park are well catered for in the views.
