4. Assertiveness
Assertiveness involves respecting your rights and the rights of others.
Assertiveness improves the chances that the other person will understand how you feel or what you want, and thus improves your chances of communicating effectively.

5. Effective Communication: The XYZ Formula

This technique helps you to communicate what is upsetting while minimizing blaming. The goal is to express how you feel (internal world) in response to another person’s behavior (external world).
Tell person what you think about their behavior without accusing them
Tell them how you feel when they behve a certain way
Tell them how their behavior affects you and your relationship with them
Tell them what you would prefer them to do instead

Self-care, a process of deliberate attention to whole health needs is known to serve as a “protective factor” and bolster resilience
