Following a request from the standardisation WG to have a global view on standards in the ESS, thereby including those embedded in legal acts, it is proposed to make an inventory of such “standards” embedded in EU legal acts

Go through EU legal acts and identify those that may qualify for inclusion in a list of regulatory documents; tools for doing this:

List of legal acts in force
For classifications : Database developed by Unit B.5 and putting in correspondence the statistical classifications and the statistical domains that use them

4. Expected difficulties
In principle classifications will be easily and exhaustively identified as they are widely known and used, and also thanks to the classification – process database developed by Unit B.5.
For other legal acts, there will be a need for some guidance from the Expert Group; e.g. it is easy to include the ESA Regulation in the list but what about Regulation (EU) 2018/1091 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 July 2018 on integrated farm statistics ? What will be the criteria for including a specific legal act in the inventory ?
