How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Arnold Baker How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our film opening represents two different social groups
Our film opening represents two different social groups. One being middle class and the other being lower class. Our detective fits under the middle class as he is not seen to be wealthy but he still wears a suit and has a good profession.
3
Seen as weak but trying his best and doing all he can to stop the murderer. He represents the middle class citizens being the ones to try and stop the killer. He is the protagonist of the story and is the only one seen to try and stop the murderer

The antagonist is also represented as being middle class
The antagonist is also represented as being middle class. This is by his outfit alone, as we don’t have enough knowledge about his character after the film opening. He has a suit on underneath a quite formal coat. This suggests that he has enough money to look presentable. But he does represent middle class citizens the complete opposite than how the detective does. This is to show they are completely contrasting characters even though they are both middle class. This is seen in the next slide…

Our three victims are shown in the next three slides…
We also represented lower class citizens, being our victims. The three victims just wear every day clothes and are the ones seen in danger. They are wearing every day clothes to make the audience feel in danger as well just like the victims. All of the actors in our final product are white British males meaning that we only have one gender representation and one representation on ethnicity. Our three victims are shown in the next three slides…
