THE OBJECTIVE IS TO ASSIGN A NUMBER OF TASKS (JOBS OR ORIGINS OR SOURCES) TO AN EQUAL NUMB ER OF FACILITIES (MACHINES OR PERSONS OR DESTINATIONS) AT A MINIMUM COST OR MAXIMUM PROFIT.

4. SEQUENCING MODELS
SEQUENCING PROBLEM IS THE PROBLEM OF DETERMINING AN APPROPRIATE ORDER OR SEQUENCE FOR A SERIES OF JOBS TO BE DONE ON A FINITE NUMBER OF SERVICE FACILITIES SO AS TO MINIMISE THE TOTAL TIME TAKEN FOR FINISHING ALL THE JOBS

Assignment problem improve spreading of the workload by finding a solution closer to or at the optimum;
Sequencing problems are used in operational problems where Manufacturing, service and distribution requires mathematical solutions
Game theory helps in arriving at a right solution between parties arguing about a matter.
