Who can remember what a collagraph is and can offer an explanation about the process on how to make a collagraph block? What considerations must you remember when making your collagraph block to ensure you will achieve a successful print? EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED: 3 macro photos (should have brought to the lesson) 3 pieces of the 12x12cm grey card PVA glue and glue spreader A variety of materials and media to build onto your card (e.g paper, corrugated card, foil, fabric, string, pipe cleaners, thin card, hot glue, sand etc.)

5 Collagraphs (lessons 1,2,3)
For the next 3 lessons you will create 3 collagraph blocks (1 per lesson) trying to emulate similar shapes and textures that are on your 3 macro photographs. At the end of lesson 3 you will need to apply a layer of PVA glue over the entire 3 blocks to act like a varnish.

8 Homework In preparation for the next stage of printing you will study the work of Angie Lewin. Produce an influence page which must contain the following: Lots of example images of her work. Information about the artist, though NOT biographical; get info about how she works, where she gets her influence/inspiration from etc. A piece of detailed written analysis (use the 4C model to help). This could be of 1 print/piece or generally about her work. Include your opinion on her work. After the lino printing lessons, you will also need to produce a small-scale reduction press print copy of a section of one of her prints.
