1 “Christ died for us” Romans 5:6
Good Friday “Christ died for us” Romans 5:6

2 1 2 3 Sunday Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday Saturday
Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 1 2 Christ died on Friday. The “three days” that he was in the tomb refer to parts of three 24 hour days. Jesus was in the tomb for less than 72 hours. In the Jewish reconing, a part of a day is considered a day. 3

3 Christ suffered… Emotionally – Anticipating the cross while in the garden, the mocking of the people, the insults of the priests, abandoned, betrayed and alone he suffered. Phisically – The cross, the crown, the lash, the hitting and blood. Spritually – Our sins on him. Christ became respoinsible for my sins. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

4 My sin and salvation My sins
You must face the reality of your sins before you can be saved. What kind of punishment do your sins deserve? Would God be just if he punished you in hell for your sins? Do not pass to the next slide until you have resolved these questions in your mind! My sins

5 B. Don't commit any BIG sins.
Here are three common plans fow how to deal with the problem of sin. Only one of them works. “Sin all you want”. Obviously this plan just tries to ignore the problem. But sin deserves punishment. “I haven’t done any really BIG sins.” But all sin is sinful. Even one sin is too many for you to go to heaven. “I will resolve to stop sinning today.” But the sins of the past need to be punished. How can you undo what has been done already? “I will trust Christ to take my sins”. He alone has done the work that saves! = one sin A. Sin as much as you want. Birth Death B. Don't commit any BIG sins. D. Christ takes my sins. C. Try to stop sinning.

6 My Sins

7 What a relief! All my sins were laid on Him!
Salvation occurs when a person trusts what Christ already did at the cross. What a relief! All my sins were laid on Him! My Sins

8 How many of your sins did Christ take upon himself?
Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned--every one--to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

9 If Christ died for all, then why isn’t everyone saved?
John 1:11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

10 Sing it… All the way to Calvary He went for me. He died to set me free.
