The Regional Council of South Savo is a public authority responsible for the general development of the region of South Savo.

3. The Project of Cultural Well-Being in South Savo:
Aims for a recognised role for arts and culture in regional strategic planning and programme development by:
Creating a regional plan for cultural well-being together with various institutions
Financing pilot projects
Creating and boosting networks
Is financed by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and managed by the Arts Promoting Centre Finland
Part of the ministry´s key project ”Expanding the procent for art scheme”
Strenghtens the role of culture and cultural well-being in the ongoing health, social services and regional government reform.

4. Regional Plan for Cultural Well-Being
The goal is to secure cultural rights for all South Savo inhabitants

5. Creating Process of the Regional Plan
The regional plan is created in various work groups: steering group, piloting group and six theme groups:
1. Childhood, adolescence and young adulthood (0-24 years)
2. Working-age adulthood (25-64 years)
3. Older adulthood (over 64 years), aging and the end of life
4. Need for specific support to participate in the arts and culture
5. Cultural environment and public art
6. Education and research
