Abilities for becoming a author
You need to love writing and love words. Good grammar and punctuation skills will be needed. Imagination is key when writing. You need to be self motivated and you need to act professional.

Educational requirements
Most authors prefer a bachelor's degree to become a full or part time author. A lot of authors have said to take a writing course to guide your vocabulary, to edit your own work, and not rely on spell check. KEY SKILLS: 1. Writing talent 2. Salary range For first time authors. An author signing a first contract can expect to receive an advance of anywhere between $1,000 to $10,000 an average per book. In 2010, authors make median salary of $55,420 per year, or $26.64 per hour. Bestselling authors can make over $97,000 but that depends on how many books he or she sold.

Jk Rowling, a famous author, who wrote the Harry Potter series and the Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them books. Over the years Rowling has gained millions of dollars or pounds in the United Kingdom. She has had over 400 million copies with the Harry Potter series, which has gotten many awards and her books became one of the bestselling book series in the world.

My reactions One of my reactions happened when I saw how many books JK Rowling sold with her Harry Potter series. I knew that a lot of author preferred a bachelor's degree. I also knew the skills and abilities that came with becoming a author.
