Receive “For as in one body we have many members and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” From Paul’s Letter to the Romans, chapter 12, verses 4 and 5

Engage In July, sixth form students and teachers, from Bishop Justus, went to the Diocese of Kondoa, in rural Tanzania. This was our third visit of hopefully many to this Diocese. Our school link project in Chemba is progressing and the Bishop of the Diocese of Kondoa (Bishop Given) is hopeful that the first stage of the school will start taking students soon. There is a long way to go … For more news about Kondoa and other projects go to

Engage A discussion idea …
The people in Kondoa have started to build the new school in Chemba. Soon they will need money to employ a teacher and school equipment – how can we help? Activity suggestion … Come up with some practical ideas that we could use in school, this year, to help our friends in Tanzania develop our link school in Chemba. (Give the ideas to Ms Myles) Discussion techniques - Go back to the Bible passage ask “How does the theme link with the Bible passage?” Discuss the question in pairs for 30 seconds then invite a response from each pair. Use quick-fire answers e.g. throw a soft bean bag / toy to a student, when they answer they throw it back and you quickly throw to another student. Simplify the question - Invite quick one-word answers, write them on the board, then reflect on the answers – see connections.

Respond [Reflect for a minute on the worship theme and our engagement …] We give thanks for all the people in the Diocese of Kondoa and all those in our Diocese who give their time and expertise to support this international link. Bless their work and give them strength and patience as they do their daily tasks. Encourage those who are developing the links between our two communities. Amen Prayer / reflection technique – Give a summary of the theme and any responses that students may have made, then invite everyone to be still (remind no books open etc – lessen distraction). To pray or reflect on today’s worship. Be quiet for one minute. Then say the prayer …
