1 Bell Ringer 1. When solving polynomial equations, what should you do first? 2. How many zeros (roots) will a polynomial have? 3. To get a polynomial function given the roots, what do you need to multiply?

2 Day 2 of Solving Polynomial Equations (factoring/quadratic formula) & Find Polynomials Given Roots (multiplying) Monday, October 3, 2016

3 Review… Solving Polynomial Equations
To solve polynomial equations… Look at the graph/table to see if you can identify a root. If you can, use synthetic division, then continue to find roots. Factor if you can. Use the Quadratic Formula when needed. Some equations can be prime.

4 Review… Factoring Completely
Remember, GCF first always. Check for your Special Cases. Sometimes you may have to factor more than once. Sometimes it will be Prime.

5 Review… Find Polynomials Given Roots
To find a polynomial given its roots, you simply multiply the factors. Remember, if the root is -3, the factor is (x+3).

6 Assignments Classwork: Algebra 2 book p.376 #25-48 omit #41 Homework:
