Week 9 (July 9 – July 13, 2018)
Accomplishments:
Segmentation function differentiates floor and wall planes, and only segments floor plane
Able to identify closest point after floor plane inlier extraction…obstacle detection function working properly when obstacles aren’t too close
Added Statistical Outlier Filter
Created research poster
Problems & Solutions:
Sometimes there is an outlier which causes the obstacle detection function to alert improperly
Solution: Create some sort of outlier filter based on previous values
Ubuntu virtual machine terminal doesn’t detect internal speaker to make alert beep
Solution: Run software on Windows computer
We have one week left
Solution: Don’t sleep
