2 As a SCITT we have been training teachers in Bedfordshire since 2000
As a SCITT we have been training teachers in Bedfordshire since In recent years our partnerships have grown due to a merger with a secondary EBITT and the introduction of School Direct. We work in partnership training Primary and Secondary teachers in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Opportunity for a wider partnership of schools To re-think why we do what we do and how we do it Professional development for all staff Working with schools we did not know Keeping the quality of our training, whilst meeting the needs of the varied partners Capacity

4 New partners approach us and are keen to:
become more involved with teacher education contribute to the professional learning and research engagement of future teachers ensure they meet the recruitment needs of their schools. 

5 School Involvement: Decision making – how the partnership will operate Design of course – what needs to be covered, how the timetable is to be taught and where Delivery – taking responsibility for delivery of certain aspects Assessment – Whole school involvement QA – all partners provide a Professional Tutor

7 Relationships are really important – establishing trust and mutual respect so as to be able to support and challenge Investing time in the partnership – meeting, talking, planning Establishing a professional dialogue about what works and what doesn’t in schools and for the provider – accepting that sometimes it might go a little ‘wrong’!! Being positive – finding solutions Reviewing regularly as equals to continually improve

8 Understanding the context of the partners – that some may be more engaged than others
Respecting and valuing the expertise and drawing on that as appropriate Challenging each other to give the very best opportunity to the trainees Celebrating together Most of all – talking to each other, sharing www/ebi, establishing a cycle of continuous quality assurance and review. Partnerships that are not static due to the changing nature of schools and their capacity Opportunities for staff development Diversification - SCITT core places, School Direct tuition/salaried and AO route
