The movement of rocks from one place to another is called erosion When snow falls on steep slopes in the mountains it layers and as more snow falls new layers form, sometimes a layer slides down a slope this is called an avalanche Water erodes riverbanks When water freezes it expands, then it breaks off pieces of rocks

7 Weather Affects Living Things
Plant Adaptations Plants die when winter comes, then in spring the seeds sprout and grow new leaves Many plant are dormant which means they stop growing in the winter, they don’t die they only stop growing Animal Adaptations Before the animals hibernate they eat and gather lots of food Some animals migrate to a warmer place for the winter

Thunderstorms When you hear thunder and see lightning your near a thunderstorm With the thunder and lightning strong winds blow and there are heavy rains Thunderstorms can cause flooding and forest fires can be started If your outside during a thunderstorm crouch down and don’t stand under any trees
