Business Process A forecast, or long term forecast, in BSCP gives a Supplier valuable planning information related to Boeing’s requirements or demands. This includes part numbers, delivery dates, and quantities. Forecasts are considered contractual obligations. Long Term Forecasts are not contractual obligations. They are provided for information and general planning purposes ONLY. Forecasts are an additional functionality for visibility. Blanket Release and ELC (External Load Center) orders are the contractual documents. Refer to contracts and purchase orders for more details. A long term forecast is only provided for long term visibility, it is neither a confirmed order nor a commitment. Forecasts in BSCP are usually updated every Tuesday, and long-term forecasts are updated on the last Friday of each month. The timeline for forecasts is the next few days, weeks or months. For long term forecasts, data is typically presented as months for the next few years. Forecasts and long term forecasts in BSCP are for view only, and there is no response capability. For Boeing Winnipeg’s dock requirements during current lead-time, refer to the forecast. For demand beyond the last forecast data, refer to the long term forecast. Forecast Structure Forecasts and long term forecasts are similar in structure. They consist of multiple requirement schedules, for one or more items being procured from a Supplier, for a given Buyer site. Each requirement schedule conveys the quantity of material requested by a Buyer for a particular date. Plant & Storage Location
Collaborations BSCP organizes material master data for demand planning into objects called Collaborations. A. Dimensions of a collaboration are: Buyer Part Number + Buyer Account + Supplier Code + Storage Location + Plant B. Attributes are the supporting informational data for a collaboration. Collaborations define each forecast or long term forecast. When these data fields exactly match on incoming data, the collaboration is updated. If there is no exact match, a new collaboration is created in BSCP. A. Collaboration Dimensions B. Run Date The Run Date refers to the date the forecast data is pulled from Boeing’s planning system, and posted to BSCP. When working with the forecasts and long term forecasts in BSCP, refer to the latest Run Date to insure you are looking at the most current data and therefore, the latest planning requirements. If a part does not have requirements due to current inventory status, or has become obsolete since the last update, the forecast and long term forecast data for that part will not be updated in BSCP. The data for that part with prior run date is no longer valid. Always apply the latest run date when you conduct a search in BSCP to view or download forecast, or long term forecast information. For forecasts, use a Run Date range within the last seven days. For long term forecasts, use a Run Date range within the last thirty days. Copyright 2017 Exostar LLC | All Rights Reserved |
