1. Child, Youth & School (CYS)Services support all three phases of the RESET/ARFORGEN: Intent is to communicate CYS Services Capabilities to: Rear Detachment Commanders; Family Readiness Groups; Key Garrison and School Personnel; CYS Services Parent Advisory Council.
Available/In-Theater: CHILD CARE: full day, shift, evening, 24 hour and extended hour child care, respite child care, hourly child care, child care discounts for children/instructional classes/sports events for youth; on site group care for Unit, FRG events, Memorial and Bereavement care; DoD Child Behavioral Consultants assigned to Garrison child care programs; remote viewing in garrison CDCs; CYS Services staff retention incentives; Off-post Operation Military Child Care; YOUTH PROGRAMS: camps, Youth lock-ins, forums; transportation to and from after school events and programs; Off post Operation: Military Kids; SCHOOL SUPPORT SERVICES: homework centers and tutoring support, training for CYS Services and School Support Staff; Pre Kindergarten Classes to ensure school readiness and additional School Liaison Officers.
RESET: CHILD CARE: reunion care, hourly care for counseling/medical appointments, on site group care for Unit, FRG events, Strong Bonds Retreats, Yellow Ribbon Events; week end care for Battle Unit Assembly & Training; DoD Child Behavioral Consultants assigned to Garrison child care programs; YOUTH PROGRAMS: Peer Support Groups and Youth Outreach activities using the CYS Services " Boots Off Curriculum Guide" to prepare children for the four phases of Reunion & Reintegration when their absent parents return. Focus is on "coming home, reconnecting and time together; SCHOOL SUPPORT SERVICES: training for school counselors, Garrison Homework Centers, 24/7 On line Tutoring for military school age and teen students.
Train/Ready: CHILD CARE: full day, shift, evening, weekend care, hourly child care, on site group care for Unit, FRG events; week end care for Battle Unit Assembly & Training; YOUTH PROGRAMS : out of school programs for youth; Operation: Military Kids; Operation Boots On mock deployment to prepare children and youth for separation; SCHOOL SUPPORT SERVICES: enhanced Education Services Support, preparation for school counselors and units on deployment stressors on children and youth.
New or emerging CYS Services programs in support of RESET: Tutor.com available Army-wide beginning school year for both components; CYS bus purchases of 177 buses for transportation to and from after school events and programs.
