Figure 1 Distribution of surgeon ratings on HealthGrades.com and Vitals.com. Although there are 2 outliers that may potentially influence the association between surgeon ratings on HealthGrades.com and Vitals.com, when these 2 outliers are removed, the association between surgeon ratings on these 2 websites becomes weaker (slope and R2 0.21), which indicates that these 2 outliers are not responsible for the association observed between surgeon ratings on HealthGrades.com and Vitals.com. Figure 2 Comparison of surgeon ratings on Vitals.com with those on HealthGrades.com. The association between surgeon ratings on HealthGrades.com and Vitals.com is represented by the fitted regression line. The slope of the line shows a positive linear correlation between these 2 online physician rating systems (p < ). Note that each data point may represent more than 1 surgeon due to surgeon rating overlap. Std Err, standard error. Figure 3 Comparison of surgeon ratings on Healthgrades.com with average adjusted Quality Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) surgeon rankings. The association between surgeon ratings on HealthGrades.com and adjusted average QCDR surgeon ranking is represented by the fitted regression line. The slope of the line is nearly horizontal, demonstrating no statistically significant association (p = 0.37). Note that each data point may represent more than 1 surgeon due to surgeon rating overlap. Std Err, standard error. Figure 4 Comparison of surgeon ratings on Vitals.com with adjusted Quality Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) surgeon rankings. The association between surgeon ratings on Vitals.com and adjusted average QCDR surgeon ranking is represented by the fitted regression line. The slope of the line is nearly horizontal, demonstrating no statistically significant association (p = 0.18). Note that each data point may represent more than 1 surgeon due to surgeon rating overlap. Std Err, standard error.
