Sat on top of his head like….., his hat… Softly wrinkled, his forehead… His eyebrows are… Two deep oceans of blue, his eyes… His thin mouth is sheltered by… His mind is occupied by thoughts of… Your task – write a descriptive piece inspired by this image. Before you start, fill out your Q5 PLC.

9 The old man looks tired. I think he is probably really bored because he doesn’t look happy. His eyes are blue and so is his hat. His eyes were as blue as cornflowers, bright and piercing. They were surrounded by deep, dark wrinkles which looked as crinkly as a crunched-up paper bag. Above, were a set of bristly eyebrows, as thick as slugs and as hairy as a wild animal. Wistfully, the old man gazes towards the ocean, occupied by memories of seas and ships and days gone by. His thoughts, like driftwood, bob along gently, yet once in a while he remembers that awful day; then his mind becomes a tumultuous storm.
