1 Logic of Intermediate disturbance hypothesis
For a native and co-evolved set of species When there are frequent and considerable disturbances, a small set of species that are good at colonizing disturbed habitats will be favored When there are infrequent and typically minor disturbances, the community will be comprised on competitively dominant species At intermediate levels of disturbance mixtures of species can co-exist Based on 1-3, the most diverse and species rich communities will exist in locations of intermediate disturbance. What about a mixture of invasive and native set of species?

2 Questions What is the relationship between distance from the shoreline and: Species richness? Percent cover of plants (a proxy for biomass). Think how this could be related to intermediate disturbance hypothesis? How should these change comparing Franklin Point and Sunset Beach?
