Input & Entry Remember the exercise from lesson six where I asked you to eliminate three error messages or dead ends? Let's come back to that now that you've got the tactics to deal with it. How can you simplify, or eliminate input for the user?

Input & Entry What do you actually know about the user or their intent already? Can you provide that to them?

Input & Entry Look at not just data entry but the flow: Is there key info you make them click on that you could instead provide right away?

Input & Entry For everything the user types, what is the best input type? Could changing to a different input type, with a different keyboard, help?

Input & Entry Can you avoid typing, and allow the user to pick from a list, check a box, or use a default picker like the date input instead?

Input & Entry How can you add snazzy micro interactions, like the level-up slider for tips? That would be a lot clunkier with a pulldown list, wouldn't it? Next we’ll start talking more about how people use the varying range of devices they actually carry, and how they interface with the technology of the computer terminals in their pockets.
