5th Grade Science with Mrs. Salego
Wednesday, October 10, 2018 Warm-up:What’s the difference between a solute and a solvent? (Type your answer in the chat) Please set up audio wizard to make sure you are able to fully participate. Disclaimer: This session will be recorded for learning purposes. Learning purposes include: a lesson review for students who are absent, students who want to review for a test, etc. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA

6 Lesson Objectives Lesson 6: Concentrations
Compare the concentrations of different solutions and describe them as concentrated or dilute. State the concentration of solutions as the number of grams of solute per 100 grams of solvent. Recognize that, at a given temperature, a solution is saturated when the maximum amount of solute has been dissolved into the solvent.

Solubility Concentrations
OLS Lessons to be completed by next Tuesday: Unit 2 Lessons 5-6 Solubility Concentrations * You may have time to work on these assignments in class today.
5
Lesson 5: Solubility Big Idea #1 Solubility - the maximum amount of a solid that can dissolve into a of a solvent at a given temperature.

Lesson 5: solubility Big Idea #2 Substances can be classified as soluble, insoluble, or somewhat soluble.

Raise your hand to be given the microphone!
What is the difference between a solution that is concentrated and a solution that is diluted? Defend your answer.
14
Use the polling tool to answer the question.

Use this time wisely! = I need help or have a question. = I finished!
Today you will be working to complete any of your unfinished Science Lessons #1-7. = I finished!
