CENTRAL FIGURE OF GOVERNMENT HEAD OF THE GOVERNMENT POWERS ARE ENORMOUS BUT NOT OUTLINES IN ANY DOCUMENT THEY INCLUDE: PARTY LEADERSHIP, APPOINTMENTS, GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION, DISSOLUTION, DISSOLUTION OF THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

As a party leader the PM approves who runs as an MP in each riding. When the party wins the election that party has been given a mandate to rule the country. The PM counts on support of the members of parliament – they will all vote the same way – this is party solidarity. Caucus meetings are used by the PM to settle issues or disagreements
