One week before – November 1st Planned to freeze online – still in question. Will know tomorrow. Midnight deadline for online. 8:00 p.m. for in person

4 September 28 - Preliminary Registration
Still have to do it. Proposed legislation abolishing it didn't pass. September 28th Only hard date of all the publication dates Notice of October 4th completion of preliminary registry. ROVAC will NOT send out notices

5 October 3rd Last day for Registrars to mail notice of challenge to name on registry.

6 First Registration Session – October 4th
Sometime between 9-5 You choose the hours.

7 October 7th Deadline for filing Certificate of Ballot Order with SOTS by Town Clerk Deadline for certifying polling place location to SOTS by Registrars. Can direct Town Clerk to send absentee ballots to Armed forces and their family Applicant or voter who lives outside US

8 Oct. 17-26 Publication of notice for Nov. 1st session.
Doesn't have to be legal notice. ROVAC WILL send out.

9 Oct. 18 Last day to notify Town Clerk if will be using Central Counting. Last day to appoint election officials. Last day to report SOTS of moderators for each polling place.

10 One Day turn around for all registrations.
Oct. 19 – Nov. 1 One Day turn around for all registrations.

11 October 24 to November 2 Notice for limited registration session. Age, citizenship or residency Doesn't have to be legal notice. ROVAC will send out copy. As practical matter, meaningless today. Should be there every day for turn around up through the 1st, which meets the one day requirement.

12 October 25 Deadline for application for special registration session

13 October 25 – November 7 Registrars have to be available for at least one day to make changes to the registry list.

14 October 28 Deadline to test tabulators (10 days before Election Day.)

15 October 31 Last day to accept written request for retention of registration by an elector challenging removal from registry.

16 November 1 All day registration from 9 am to 8 pm
Online, in person, mail-in and DMV. Same rules apply for mail-in registrations for date postmarked. DMV based on when former town processed the DMV application, so may bleed over into Nov. 2nd or 3rd. Absentee Ballot check-off can begin (after 11am) Last day to request supervised absentee balloting in nursing homes with less than 20 electors. Last day for voter to request removal from registry list.

17 November 2 Last day to file updated registry list with Town Clerk.
If person registers, will not be able to vote EDR, so preference is towards no registrations unless processing mail-in or DMV applications. Otherwise registration effective Nov. 9th.

18 November 6 Deadline for unofficial checkers request (before 6 am)

19 November 7 Limited registration session between 9-5.
Need to stay till 5 for military registration. Supervised Balloting Deadline. Delivery of Election Materials to Moderator before 8 pm. Can deliver tabulators and related supplies. Must finish absentee ballot checkoff. Prepare active registry list and inactive list.

20 Non-Certified Results due at midnight.
November 8 ELECTION DAY Non-Certified Results due at midnight.

21 November 10 48 hour deadline to file final results on EMR returns

22 November 14 Not Clear How Veteran’s Day will Affect
Head Moderator's Return must be printed out, signed and mailed in to SOTS. Must meet with Town Clerk on 3rd Day to confirm all results.

23 November 14 to 17 November 14 last day for Moderator to order a recanvass. November 17 – All Moderator or Close Vote Recanvasses must be finished by the 17th.

24 November 22 Voting Tabulators Remain Sealed.
SOTS can select towns for audits beginning on this day. Last day for a complaint about the election to be filed.

25 November 29 Run off election in event of tie vote

26 December 8 Deadline for Certificate of Canvass Completion to be filed with SOTS.

27 January 9, 2017 Deadline to update voter history for November Election
