Presentation on theme: "Two-Point Perspective"— Presentation transcript:

1 Two-Point Perspective
How to draw realistic 3D views

2 Step 1: draw the horizon A little more than halfway up the paper.

3 Step 3: Vertical Line Draw a vertical line
The vertical line must cross the horizon line.

4 Step 4: Vanishing Points

5 Step 5: Perspective Lines
Lightly draw lines from the top and bottom of the vertical line To each vanishing point.

6 Step 5: Additional Vertical Lines
Draw two additional vertical lines – one on each side of the first.

7 Step 6: More Vertical Lines
Draw two more vertical lines for EACH “building” – until you Have buildings all the way to the vanishing point. The two lines are the alley between the buildings. TIP #1: Vary the width of each building. They should not all be the same. TIP #2: Lines get closer together the further away they go. Step 6: More Vertical Lines

8 Step 7: Remove Unneeded Lines
Erase the horizon line behind all the buildings Erase the perspective lines between each building

9 Can you See the Buildings?
TIP: Number each building

10 What would you need to do to make each building a
QUESTION ? ? ? ? ? ? ? What would you need to do to make each building a different height?

11 Step 8: Make Each Building a Different Height
All lines on the LEFT side of the buildings go to the left VP All lines on the RIGHT side of the buildings go to the right VP

12 Make building #2 taller. Extend the line that is closest to you on building #2 UPWARD.

13 Draw from the top of that line to the right vanishing point.

14 You choose how wide building #2 is by drawing this short line.

15 Draw from the top of the same line to the LEFT vanishing point.
TIP: You can stop at the left edge of building #2. Another TIP: Draw from the bottom of the closest line to the opposite vanishing point!

16 Shade the right side of every building. Even darker in the alleys

17 Make every building a different height
Make every building a different height. Do all the left side buildings first.

18 Do the right side buildings next

19 Step 9: Draw sidewalks. 4 2 3 1

20 Draw from the dots to the opposite vanishing point!
TIP: Make the sidewalk 3-4” tall

21 Step 10: Windows & Doors At least one door per building and one window or sign

22 Last Step: COLOR then TURN IN!
