What is the point-of-view of this story? How do you know? What is the story REALLY about? How is the p.o.v. effectively used to support that? How do you feel about the characters? What other elements contribute to the message? Title? Dialogue? Names?

Native Son close read (POV)
Close read the following passage, highlighting/ annotating specific syntactical choices and rhetorical devices. On the opposite side of your composition book, analyze the impact of these decisions. How does perspective (p.o.v.) impact the text?
