For the baseline assessment of their willingess to participate, 122 (37%) of the 331 dialysis patients in our cohort study could not be surveyed. For the second assessment of their willingness to participate, 32 (15%) of the 209 patients could not be surveyed. At least three attempts were made over the 6months of the study to capture all patients in the cohort. Figure 2 Response to question: How willing would you be to participate in this study of six versus three times a week dialysis? At baseline among 209 patients, 85 (41%) stated a positive willingness to participate whereas 124 (59%) were not willing to participate. After teaching about the possible risks and benefits of daily dialysis, among 177 patients, 62 (35%) stated a positive willingness to participate whereas 115 (65%) were not willing to participate.
