LESSON PLANs We have a number of teachers throughout the building who have EXCELLENT lesson plans—unit, daily, and differentiated. Talk about this in your PLCs, share ideas, ask for help, etc. to be sure you are not making it more difficult than it has to be. POINTS TO REMEMBER: Everyone should have up-to-date lesson plans in Google now. This is expected and should be on- going. Unit plans—must include a daily outline. Unit plans may cover several weeks, but you should also have a brief daily description as part of those plans. Differentiation—this plan is required on a weekly basis. You should be using current assessment data to plan your differentiation. It should be evident which students are being grouped together and what their activity is going to be. Collaboration for planning is acceptable and encouraged, but differentiation should be individualized by teacher. If you have any questions, please schedule a meeting with Mrs. Ford for clarification and assistance.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: be in the halls between classes to: 1--Monitor Student behavior 2--Move students to class when it’s close to the warning bell. Thank you to those who are always in the halls during class change. For those who have not been consistently visible, please make this a priority. Keep STUDENTS IN CLASS AND ENGAGED IN LEARNING FROM BELL-TO-Bell. There are too many students in the halls during class.

Questioning Strategies Reminder: Do not ask WHOLE GROUP questions. Ask a question, allow “THINK” time or “TALK” time, then call on a student at random to answer. Ask REFLECTIVE questions—”Is that answer correct? Why/Why not? STUDENTS should be doing the majority of the explaining, providing rationale, talking through steps of a problem, etc.
