“Blessed are those who have been persecuted …”
Why are we “calmly happy” and “leaping for joy” over our persecutions? First, because “… theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Our citizenship in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ should mean a great deal. 2 Thessalonians 1:3-6; Philippians 3:20-21; Ephesians 2:19 Inclusion at the beginning and end indicates all are required for citizens in the kingdom.

“Blessed are those who have been persecuted …”
Why are we to rejoice over our persecutions? Second, because “Your reward in heaven is great” – Psalms 58:11; 19:9-11; 2 Chronicles 15:7; Isaiah 49:3-4; Hebrews 11:6, 26; 10:35. Our reward is not worthy to be compared … Romans 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“Blessed are those who have been persecuted …”
Why are we to rejoice over our persecutions? Third, because “… in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you …” – How does this help us rejoice? We see God’s “approval”; “commendation” (ESV) of those who endured. Hebrews 11:2, 39; James 1:12; 2 Timothy 2:15 – (John 1:32-34; 5:31-39)

Acts 4:29 (verses ) Ephesians 6:18-20 That we never lose focus on the outcome of our faith. Hebrews 11:13-16 Acts 26:11; 8:3; 1 Timothy 1:13
