Research: Junior faculty research awards and grants Institute for Research in the Social Sciences Director of Proposal Development and Initiatives Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development Start up funds Matching research funds b. Teaching: Junior faculty teaching enhancement grants Center for teaching and learning c. Service: Vice Chancellor for Public Engagement Engaged Scholarship funds Training and mentoring University emphasis Center for Public Service Faculty Scholar Funds Student Scholar Funds 4. School of Social Work level resources: Research funds available $120,000 per year New faculty receive two summers of support Reduced teaching load first year One semester sabbatical in the 3rd year Travel funds first two years RA first two years Mentoring committee Associate Dean for Research consultation and funding Support and involvement of the Jordan Institute for Families Statistical/Methodological core provides consultation Support provided to attend statistical training Teaching Circle Teaching awards (Dean’s and student awards) Funded consultation to address increased quality in teaching Emphasis on intervention research leads to community involvement School culture of community, state, national & international service School provides funding to support service (e.g., Habitat, SHAC, Mississippi project, Making Choices China, SSP Romania) Significant part of the tenure and promotion review d.
