Remember: “coming of age” elements and idea Remember: “Interview narrative” focus In your journal: Make a list of the key events that contribute to the main character’s coming of age from your Book Club book Write FOUR open-ended interview questions for your main character From the perspective of the character, answer a couple of these if you can! Make sure to keep these questions in mind as you continue reading and as you talk to your peers about your book 

“Coming of age” means… What does it mean to “come of age”? Use a blank piece of printer paper and some markers to make a web organizer

Recap the scene in “Marigolds” where Miss Lottie sees the destruction of her flowers Talk about Miss Lottie’s thoughts, feelings, emotions, motivations, history, etc. What do we know about her? In your journal Write FOUR open-ended questions to ask Miss Lottie. Your questions should push Miss Lottie to reflect on the significance of the events – what did she learn about herself or about the world? Answer a couple of these questions from Miss Lottie’s perspective!
