4. Original Solution CS1
Original construction method utilised imported granite kerbs and paving to create the safe traffic barrier for cyclists. This was a costly and time consuming construction method which had major impacts both environmentally and socially.

5. Cycle Super Highway Two (CS2)
TFL had learned much from the construction of CS1 and they wanted to improvements for the construction of CS2 such as:

Simplified installation
Reduction in construction times
Requirement for reducing reliance on natural materials
Reduction in Carbon Footprint
Smaller construction footprint

cycle segregation system that exceeded their expectations.
