Week of: February 18, 2019 ELA: This week we finish the novel Charlotte’s Web. This novel follows a young pig who befriends a spider. The spider works tirelessly to help save the pig from a terrible fate. The students will read, note take, answer text dependent questions, and construct a writing response each day. We will also continue to work on narrative writing pieces. Math: This week we will begin module 6- Collecting and Displaying Data. This is a fun module! We will be generate and organize data, create scaled bar graphs, and solve one and two step problems involving graphs. Social Living: We will begin reviewing for benchmarks. The topics we will be reviewing are economics, habitats, and fossils. Please have your child review any study guides or worksheets that are sent home. We will review how to answer questions using sources. Math: 1. I can generate and organize data. 2. I can rotate tape diagrams vertically. 3. I can create scaled bar graphs. 4. I can solve one and two step word problems involving graphs.
