3. TO PARTICIPATE IN OKM Graduation Celebrations…

Be in an academic position to graduate

Pay $100 Grad Fees by May 31st, 2018.
Be in good standing with school & community

4. Events Policy
All school-sanctioned Grad activities, such as the Grad Fashion show, are considered extracurricular and therefore all District and School policies apply.
Any student caught breeching the District Drug and Alcohol policy or any other policy while taking part in these events will be dealt with according to district guidelines (see Code of Conduct online or OKM Student Agenda).
Please be aware that students who take part in unsanctioned grad activities do so at their own risk.
These activities are not endorsed nor supported by the school and the school has had no part in ensuring student safety.
Note: grad “kidnappings” are unsanctioned activities.
 If students participate in unsanctioned activities and return to the OKM campus breeching district policy, they will be held accountable.
 We all want our grads to have an awesome and memorable grad year but we will not compromise student safety. Thank you for your understanding and support of our shared commitment to the safety of our students.

18. WHAT is Grad Council?
Grad Council is a senior course at OKM responsible for the organization of student involvement in Grad 2018.
Student enrolment is based on peer nomination, and we meet every Tuesday at Lunch.
Student leadership is elected from within Grad Council.
Students have a major influence in shaping Grad 2018, and they work actively with the school administration and the Grad Parent Executive.

20. What is the grad parent executive?
The Grad Parent Executive is a group of parents who are involved in the organization of Grad 2018.
On issues such as Fundraising and the Variety Show, the Grad Parent Executive works closely with Grad Council.
On issues such as Dry Grad and the Garden Party, the Grad Parent Executive works separately from the Grad Council so that the element of surprise and security issues are handled appropriately.
SUPER IMPORTANT You are never alone because the school has binders that have been maintained by previous Grad Parent Executives. They contain priceless advice and templates from the past!
