Vocabulary of the Week

2. offspring 1
Define: (n) a person's child or children. An animal’s young
Example: The mother bear taught her offspring how to survive.

3. 2 Provide Define: (v) make available for use; supply.
Example: Your parents provide food and shelter for you.

4. 3 den Define: (n) a wild animal's lair or habitation.
Example: The bear hibernates in its den during winter 3

5. nurse 4
Define: (n) a person trained to care for the sick or infirm, especially in a hospital.
(v) give medical and other attention to (a sick person).
Example: The man nursed the sick dog back to health.

6. litter 5
Define: (n) trash, such as paper, cans, and bottles, that is left lying in an open or public place.

Example: The cat had a litter of kittens.

7. explore 6
Define:  (v.) travel in or through (an unfamiliar country or area) in order to learn about or familiarize oneself with it.
Example:  The dog nudged the ball with his nose.
Ask: The best way to learn about a new place is to go out and explore.

Define: (v) brush and clean the coat of (a horse, dog, or other animal).

Define: (n) the natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism.
Example: Animals live best in their natural habitat.
