5 ROUTINES Sport: Tuesday
Students are required to come to school in their full school sports uniform. This includes white sports shoes and socks. A doctor’s certificates must be brought in if your child cannot participate in sport activities. Sport day may change throughout the year. Library: Please ensure your child packs their library bag and borrowing card on this day. Monday: 1 White Tuesday: 1 Blue Wednesday: 1 Red

6 Crunch ‘n’ Sip Please ensure your child has a piece of fruit/vegetable and water for their daily crunch ‘n’ sip.

7 Birthday Birthday cakes and/or lolly bags cannot be brought in due to some students allergies and safety. Students may be given awards and/or stickers on their birthday. Parents may organise a jelly bucket with the office at the cost of $15.00 to celebrate their chill's birthday.

8 Grade 1 Information Page
Information regarding Year 1 can be found on the school website and Skool Bag app. Please check these regularly for notices and filling out permission slips.

9 Learning Support Children are observed/assessed and placed on mini-lit as necessary. Class teacher will contact parents if a child needs to be referred to learning support. Teacher aides have allocated hours each week to assist classroom teacher

What is the book about? Why is it your favourite book? Bring in the book to class. Week 9 and 10 Free Choice 9 and 10, students are given the opportunity to present NEWS on a topic of their choice.

18 Reading Fluency Aims to improve students’ reading fluency and accuracy
Students read for 1 minute and record the amount of correct words read. New text each week Grade 1 mid year goal is 23+ words correct per minute and end of year goal is 47+ correct words per minute. Please ensure your child reads the weekly text everyday and complete the comprehension questions. Reading Fluency

19 Covering Books Reminder…
If your child’s book has not been contacted and returned to class, please ensure you do this ASAP.

20 Excursion Excursions are planned according to topics covered in curriculum. Excursion notes will be uploaded to the website/Skool bag.

21 Class dojo Class dojo is a form of communication between teachers and parents. Teachers also use class dojo to reward students for their positive behaviour in class. When students receive 40 dojos they receive an assembly award . Teachers will also upload pictures onto class dojo to share activities that they do at school. If you have not joined, please ensure that you do.

22 Meetings with Teachers
If you have concerns about your child’s progress, please contact the office to book in an appointment with the classroom teacher. NOTE: Dismissal time (3:10-3:30) is not the time for teachers to discuss your child’s progress. If the classroom teacher has concerns about your child’s progress, you will be contacted through a phone call, an or directly in person. Reports are issued in June and December through .
