Reading In-class selections Novels Writing All modes Vocabulary Grammar Speaking and Listening Researching The English and reading teacher work hand-in-hand to increase students’ fluency in these areas.

Materials and procedures
Materials needed on a daily basis: RED 3-ring binder divided into four sections: Vocab, Grammar, Literature, Writing Loose leaf paper Two pencils (at least) in a zipper pouch Agenda book Procedures: Daily homework assignments Long-term projects Grading—Percentage points for a grade. Students are permitted to take home most assessments, with the exception of district tests. No extra credit! Points can be earned for correcting assignments that fall below a “C”

assessments A variety of assessments each marking period, ranging in difficulty level Take-home and in-class essays, one paragraph building to essays of multiple pages PSSA ELA Test in April District Cumulative ELA exam in June: -Reading/Word Study -Grammar/Writing

Resource Activity Period: 8:15-8:45 Daily After School Clinic: Thursdays 3:00-3:45
