On pg. 165, create an equation for Problem Set #3
Take out your packet. On pg. 165, create an equation for Problem Set #3 t = w or t = 5w + 10 What we saved each week What we started with

Objective(s) : I will be able to:
Use variables to represent two quantities in a real-world problem that change in relationship to one another; analyze the relationship between the dependent and independent variables using graphs and tables, and relate these to the equation. So that I can learn : -How to determine the independent variable and dependent variable in each real-life scenario. -How to create a table and make a graph for the equation by plotting the points from the table. I will know I got it when I can verbally discuss with my partners and then successfully complete at least 3 out of 4 real world problems by writing the data in our tables and transferring to our graphs. 6.EE.C.9 Objective(s) :

Vocabulary: Equation Variable Dependent Independent Table Value Plot
Graph

Notes: Generally, - the independent variable is along the x-axis.
- the dependent variable is along the y-axis (the x-axis is the horizontal axis) (the y-axis is the vertical [up & down] axis) dependent variable independent variable

Pg. 165 : #3 I do Independent variable: Dependent variable:
Number of weeks (w) Total amount saved in dollars (t) # of weeks (w) Total saved in $ (t) 10 1 15 2 20 25 3 4 30 5 35 6 40 7 45 8 50 # of weeks (w)

Pg. 165 : #4 we do… The total cost in dollars depends on how many pounds of apples are bought. Therefore, the total cost in dollars is the dependent variable, and the # of pounds of apples is the independent variable. T= 1.50a + 10
