Contour Interval Difference in elevation between adjacent (next to) contour lines. If intervals are close together means a steep hill/cliff. If far apart gentle rise

Rules Contour lines never cross.
The closer contour lines steeper the slope.

Rules Every 5th contour line is marked darker on a map, and elevation is marked with numbers.
