Observations collect what kind of data?

An inference is when you make an assumption or prediction about something that you observe
After you make an observation, you usually make an inference about what is going on!

4. Let’s practice making inferences!
The next three slides show some fossil imprints that were found during an archeological dig in GA. We’re going to each make some observations and then record some inferences about what may have happened millions of years ago….

In your notebook, please write a short paragraph (around ½ page – be DETAILED please) describing what you think happened to the creatures in our fossil evidence.

9. Physiographic region– regions of Georgia characterized by their physical geography
Appalachian Plateau - mountainous province is found in extreme northwestern Georgia
Ridge and Valley - region of parallel valleys separated by ridges in the northwest corner of the state.
Piedmont – region of rolling hills and occasional isolated mountains
Blue Ridge – region of irregular sequence of mountains, ridges, and basins
Coastal Plains-flat region of well- drained rolling hills and poorly drained flatwoods, includes Okefenokee basin, swamps and marshes
