Background
IETF ECRIT & 3GPP TSG CT have invited various standardisation bodies to an Emergency Services workshop at Columbia University, New York, USA on 5/6th October, to try and summarise all the activities in this area throughout 3GPP, IETF and IEEE. It seems to be a genuine attempt to help the community and has not been organised by a conference company.
IETF liaison officer (Dorothy Stanley) forwarded this invitation to all IEEE members on 5th September 2006

It appears not to be the usual end-to-end service discussion, they are genuinely interested in the radio interface signalling aspects.
Within IEEE invitations were sent to TGk, TGu and TGv representing the 3 IEEE task groups looking at location and emergency call setup.
In addition invitations were also sent to IEEE 802.1, as several of their groups have addressed location issues (e.g. IEEE 802.1ab)

How is an emergency call supported by IEEE
What are the (current) technical solutions for:
Unauthenticated network access (TGu)
Emergency service identification (TGu)
Location determination (TGk, TGv)
Decision as to whether anyone from should officially attend or not.
